Job Resource Program - In cooperation with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the City of Detroit, Detroit Public Schools, and United Way of Southeastern Michigan, for unemployed Metro Detroit residents (new immigrants as well as long-time residents) - job readiness program, English as a Second Language classes, G.E.D. classes, vocational classes, financial literacy, computer training, resume writing and interview skills, bus routes information, individual counseling, etc. All Job Resource Program classes are free of charge. Swearing in Cermonies - Are planned and conducted by the International Institute, in cooperation with the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service, two to three times a year. A U.S. Federal Judge swears in new U.S. citizens in a solemn ceremony, followed by a joyful celebration. Over 3,000 new citizens are sworn in through this program each year.
