Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Course

Program Description

IIMD’s CNA occupational training component is an important aspect of IIMD’s Workforce Development/Adult Education Program. The training is offered to Metropolitan Detroit’s native- and foreign-born residents. English Language Learners must demonstrate advanced English language competency (CASAS score 221 or higher) to be eligible for the program. The program provides the education and training necessary for individuals to earn sustainable wages and embark on a career pathway in the field of healthcare.  

Through the program, students are able to advance in their chosen careers and are able to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Associate of Applied Science Degree Nurse (RN), Bachelor of Applied Science Degree (BSN-RN), EKG Technicians, Phlebotomist, Surgical Technicians, Dialysis Technicians, Physical Therapist, and more.

IIMD’s occupational training program is offered in partnership with N.U.R.S.E.S.; IIMD’s employer partners, local colleges and universities, and IIMD’s CIET Program Manager/Career Coach, Alex Barton.

  • Course spans over 15-weeks, 162 hours

  • Program is FREE to qualified individuals

  • Space is limited to 15 qualified students
