Please Donate

The International Institute needs your help. Please donate. We are an IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization and a State of Michigan non-profit corporation. Check with your tax professional to determine what portion of your donation may be tax deductible. Since 1919, the International Institute, in cooperation with the US government, has assisted low income immigrants and refugees, as well as native Detroiters, with legal services, citizenship classes, English language classes, GED classes, social work assistance, job training and placement, new business development, translation and interpretation services, new citizen swearing-in ceremonies, as well as with programs for adults and youth to learn about foreign languages, music, dance, costumes, and cultures from around the world. Many of the clients we serve today have fled war, famine, poverty, slavery, dictatorships, and corrupt regimes in distant lands around the world and arrive in Detroit with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing. With our help, most become productive and patriotic US citizens who become positive additions to our country. A significant portion of Metro Detroit's population has been assisted directly or indirectly by the Institute over the past 96 years. Any money donated to the International Institute will be put to good use, as we are an extremely efficient organization, with little overhead compared to the money spent directly on services. Much of our staff is made up of volunteers. Due to the very poor economy in Detroit, our traditional sources of donations and funding have been reduced and we can use support from new donors. Please help. Please make checks payable to "International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit, Inc." and mail to: Mr. Wojciech Zolnowski; Executive Director; International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit; 111 E KIRBY; DETROIT, MI 48202 USA.
