Enroll now for a free pathway to citizenship for legal permanent residents. The International Institute offers classes, starting January, 2013, to assist in preparation for the Citizenship Test and to assist in filling out the N-400 form to apply for U.S. citizenship. Become a U.S. citizen. Free assistance will be offered by the staff of the International Institute at "Become a Citizen Day," on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 10AM-2PM. It will take place at the office of Michigan State Representative Rashida Tlaib, 2101 W. Lafayette (off Rosa Parks Blvd), in Detroit. English, Spanish and Arabic speakers will be available. The assistance is for lawful permanent residents of the U.S. Bring your "green card," list of addresses where you lived in past five years, list of employers and addresses for past five years, and exact dates you have been outside the US in past five years.
