Ron Eng, IT/Technology Coordinator & Facilities Specialist (Volunteer)
Ron Eng, volunteer extraordinaire, began volunteering at IIMD in November 2017. Initially his work involved building repairs; however, he has graciously utilized his skills to provide general support to IIMD's leadership and staff. Among a variety of tasks, Ron oversees and has transformed IIMD’s entire IT hardware and software systems.
IIMD’s mission resonated for Ron on account of his family’s own immigration experience, raised by a single father who immigrated to the US from China at the age of 12, eventually marrying Ron’s stepmother, who arrived in the U.S. as a refugee from South Vietnam in 1975, Ron felt compelled to give back.
Ron received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. Ron worked for General Motors for nearly 40 years, retiring in 2017.
