
Masood Safi, Refugee Employment and Integration Program
Masood Safi serves as the Case Manager for IIMD’s Refugee Employment and Integration Program, where he supports Afghan refugees in their transition to self-sufficiency. His responsibilities include developing individualized case plans, coordinating services such as job training and interview preparation, and providing support in job search activities.
He advocates for clients within the employment system and connects them with housing, social services, language classes, and financial literacy programs in partnership with IIMD’s Center for Working Families. Masood also maintains accurate records, coordinates client transportation, and interpretation services across departments, and supports orientation programs to facilitate refugee integration.
Masood brings extensive experience in IT, administration, and community support. Prior to joining IIMD, he worked as an IT/Administrative Assistant at DGC International, where he provided hardware, software, and network support, oversaw inventory procedures, and served as an interpreter between the U.S. Army and Afghan staff.
He also held IT roles with Chemonics International Inc., the Afghan Women’s Education Center, and other international development organizations, managing networks, software rollouts, staff training, and community outreach. Masood holds diplomas in Information Technology and English Language, and his technical training includes certifications in Windows Server environments, networking, and data communication. He is fluent in English, Pashto, Dari, and Urdu.
