Joslyn f. Moore, Center for working families coordinator, esl/efl teacher

Joslyn is an advocate for understanding and documenting the lives of indigenous, minority, and immigrant communities through the lens of anthropology. Her dedication to this field is rooted in a deep commitment to exploring and amplifying the stories and experiences of these often-underrepresented populations. With years of experience in community programs and nonprofit work in both Chicago and Detroit, Joslyn has developed a multifaceted approach to serving these communities.

As the Coordinator of the Center for Working Families [CWF] and an ESL Instructor at the International Institute of Metro Detroit [IIMD], Joslyn is responsible for driving key initiatives in job placement, financial literacy, and educational support. Her work is guided by a mission to document and understand the unique challenges faced by immigrant and underserved communities, using anthropology to give these communities a platform for their voices and experiences.

Beyond her role at IIMD, Joslyn is an active participant in organizations such as the American Indian Health and Family Services and Hamtramck United Social Services, where she continues to support initiatives focused on cultural education and community empowerment. Through her work, Joslyn remains deeply committed to IIMD’s mission and the broader goal of creating meaningful, lasting change for the communities she serves.
