Joseph Lauchlan, Financial coach and fae&T + Program manager
Born and raised in the city, Joe studied Economics and Community Development and served in Peace Corps Costa Rica before returning to Detroit. At IIMD, he helps clients navigate their financial questions with a focus on building and rebuilding credit, managing their budget, growing their wealth and understanding a wide variety of financial products.
He also runs the Lending Circles program which is an interest-free, credit-building group loan that helps clients build credit history and learn how to apply for loan products and become familiar with financial systems.
Joe has an M.A. in Community and Economic Development from Illinois State University. He speaks Spanish and French. In his free time, he likes to play chess and baseball. He’s grateful for the opportunity to work at IIMD and engage with people from so many different cultural backgrounds.
