Elisa goncalves, Grant Writer

Elisa Goncalves is the Grant Writer at IIMD. She began her career as an educator at the  American School of Campinas in Brazil, where she enjoyed working with students and colleagues from around the world and learning about their diverse cultures. Upon returning to the United States, Elisa continued her work in education, both at the K-12 and community college levels. 


Elisa’s career path shifted after taking a grant writing course, where she discovered a new way to combine her education, experience and passion for writing. In her current role, Elisa writes federal, state, and foundation grant proposals. Her awarded grants have supported a wide range of initiatives, including capital projects, barrier removal to employment, workforce development, program capacity building, legal immigration services, financial coaching, English as a Second Language, citizenship preparation, COVID-19 relief, and general operations. 


Elisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, a Master of Arts degree in English Linguistics, and a TESOL certificate. She is bilingual in English and Brazilian Portuguese. Through her work at IIMD, Elisa is dedicated to securing funding for programs that create meaningful and sustainable change in the lives of community members.
